Geological support for an investment covers testing of foundation conditions for buildings, determination of ground and water conditions together with contamination testing, and — during construction — assessment of compaction, resistance, permeability and ground stability. Drilling is carried out in accordance with the regulation of 1 September 2016 (Journal of Laws 2016, item 1395).

Testing at the design stage
For the design stage and the building permit, we carry out testing to determine the foundation conditions for structures such as residential buildings, warehouses and production halls.
We also carry out testing to determine ground and water conditions together with contamination testing. Drilling work involving the collection of soil samples is performed in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment of 1 September 2016 on the assessment of land surface contamination (Journal of Laws 2016, item 1395).
Support during construction
While the project is being built we support the assessment of compaction, resistance, permeability and stability of the ground, and of other parameters that need to be determined. At every stage we pay particular attention to the precision of the measurements and to a detailed description of the local geological conditions, because we know how much the accuracy of that assessment matters to the designer and the contractor.
Contractors who have had to correct mistakes arising from an inadequate assessment of geological conditions understand very well how much geological surveys are worth.
What a geological survey gives you
- foundation conditions — bearing capacity and founding depth,
- groundwater level — decisive for damp-proofing and for whether a basement is feasible,
- soil type — sands, silts, clays, made ground and organic deposits unsuitable for building,
- compaction, resistance and stability — parameters verified during construction.
When a geotechnical opinion is required
Since 19 September 2020 every architectural and construction design must include a geotechnical opinion, regardless of the size or complexity of the project. Category II and III projects additionally require laboratory analysis of soil and groundwater samples, described under soil contamination testing.
