Accredited laboratory testing

VICESIMA operates first and foremost within the framework of applicable law. We have therefore ensured that we meet the requirements set out in the consolidated text of the Environmental Protection Law (Journal of Laws 2013, item 1232).

The legal basis

Article 147a(1): the operator of an installation and the user of equipment are obliged to ensure that measurements of emission levels or of other conditions of environmental use are carried out by an accredited laboratory within the meaning of the Act of 30 August 2002 on the conformity assessment system.

What we provide

We provide accredited sampling of air, water and wastewater, together with analysis in a laboratory accredited by the PCA. More information is available in the Environmental monitoring section.

Why accreditation matters

Accreditation by the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) formally confirms that a laboratory follows reference methodologies and is regularly audited. In practice it means one thing: the result carries evidential weight in administrative proceedings. Testing outside accreditation may be sound, but the authority is not obliged to take it into account.

What accredited sampling covers

• air sampling — emissions from installations and air at workstations,
• water sampling — groundwater from piezometers and surface water, as part of environmental monitoring,
• wastewater sampling — volume and composition of industrial wastewater discharged into water bodies,
• soil sampling for land surface contamination assessment and before remediation.

Every sample is labelled with its number, the depth or place it was taken from and the range of determinations — without that description the laboratory has no basis for the right analysis.
